Client Overview
About the Project
Houze Hookup is a real estate discovery mobile app that reimagines property search through a swipe-based, social-media-inspired interface — letting users browse, save, and fall in love with properties the same way they consume content on TikTok or Instagram, instead of scrolling through static listing pages.
The app targets property seekers who find traditional real estate platforms visually dull and cognitively overwhelming, replacing dense listing grids with an engaging, swipe-driven experience that makes discovery fast and enjoyable.
SaaSify Labs delivered UI/UX design and full-stack mobile development for Houze Hookup — built on React Native with a Node.js/PostgreSQL/AWS backend — shipping the platform in 5 months in 2023.
The Challenge
What Problem We Solved
Traditional real estate platforms like Zillow and Realtor.com were built around search filters and list views — functional, but completely at odds with how people actually browse and fall in love with things online in the age of TikTok and Instagram.
The client needed a property discovery experience that felt as engaging as social media — swipe-based, visually rich, and fast — while still surfacing the property details buyers actually care about.
What We Built
Core Features Delivered
Swipe-Based Discovery
Users swipe through properties like social media content — right to save, left to skip, instantly engaging.
Save & Shortlist
Saved properties are collected into a personal shortlist for easy comparison and revisiting.
Rich Visual Listings
Properties are presented with full-screen visuals and key details front and center — no dense filter grids.

How We Built It
Our Development Process
Discovery & UX Strategy
Mapped the gap between how people browse social media vs. how they currently search for properties, to define the swipe-first UX model.
UI/UX Design
Designed a visually immersive, swipe-based property discovery interface inspired by social media content consumption.
Backend & Listings Engine
Built the Node.js/PostgreSQL backend powering property listings, user preferences, and smart match logic.
Mobile App Development
Built the React Native app with native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) performance optimizations for smooth swipe interactions.
QA & Launch
Tested swipe performance, match logic, and cross-platform rendering before deploying on AWS.
